My Swing
My swing is just like a time machine
without flashing lights of any kind
I don’t even need a “password”
to take me back in timeI just sit–and gently push it
and my cares just fade away
Fond memories seem to appear again
of events of by-gone-daysMy mornings usually start quite early
just God and me alone
I’ll swing and watch the stars fade away
and listen to the mocking-bird’s songsSoon the most glorious sunrises
appear in the morning sky
A kaleidoscope of fast changing colors
right there on my lanaiSo when you are all stressed-out or upset
about daily things that went a-wyre
Just swing and count your many blessings
there’s no need to sulk or cry! Then share that swing with those you love
talk to God when you start your day too,
That swing opens up all kinds of thoughts
Surprise!!—-what a simple thing can do!— D.E. Penrod

Beautiful poem. I’m just relaxed and stressed free just reading it. Thank you.
